Dera head has given contract to kill me: Undertrial

PATIALA: An undertrial lodged in central jail, Patiala, has alleged threat to his life from DeraSachaSauda. Though dera has denied his allegations, the prisoner has even mentioned the name of an inmate, who has been given the contract to kill him.
In a handwritten letter in Hindi, Vishwas Gupta of Panipat lodged here, has alleged that since he has a dispute with Dera Sacha Sauda head Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the latter has given a contract to another prisoner, Bhima, through jail guard Manjit Singh to kill him.
Gupta has further written that Balwant Singh Rajoana, facing death penalty in the murder case of former CM Beant Singh, has given this information to him. He has also sought copies of statement of Bhima, recorded by jail authorities during their investigations after getting his complaint.
In 2011, the Punjab and Haryana high court had issued notices to Haryana home secretary, DGP and Panchkula SP on a Gupta's petition seeking release of his wife from the alleged custody of Dera Sacha Sauda chief, whom he had accused of exploiting her sexually. But a week later, his wife had filed a complaint and police had lodged an FIR against Gupta, his father and mother, for harassment for dowry and attempt to murder. The case is still going on.
When contacted, dera spokesman Dr Pawan Insan denied all allegations. "We have no dispute with Gupta and it's their (couple's) matter. He is levelling baseless allegations," he said.
According to sources, Gupta was brought to Patiala from Mohali on January 23, 2013 after police booked him for fraud in a cheque bounce case.
When contacted, superintendent of jail Bhupinder Virk confirmed that letter was written by Gupta, but denied the allegations. "Bhima is hardcore criminal and we have lodged him in a separate cell. Since jail guard Manjit Singh had warned Gupta on January 24 when he tried to violate jail manual, he has been levelling allegations against Manjit, who is has no connection with Dera," said the SP jail.
However, intelligence officers think that it is possible that Rajoana might have tried to rake up controversy against Dera head through Gupta.
